Who: Jeopardy! Clue Crew member Cheryl Farrell visits former foster youth at Hillsides Youth Moving On, a transitional housing and living program, bringing the educational game into their homes. The Jeopardy! Clue Crew offers viewers the visual experience of clues brought to life.
With dual degrees from UCLA and USC (in economics and communications) and a strong background in travel and corporate banking, Cheryl Farrell returns for her sixth season as one of the “roving correspondents” of the Jeopardy! Clue Crew. Today, Jeopardy! viewers can find Farrell delivering clues from the shrines to Russian leaders in Moscow’s Red Square to taping clues in the secured halls of the nation’s Pentagon. A personal highlight of Farrell’s Clue Crew experience was “singing clues to life” from such memorable venues as the Motown Historical Museum and the pulpit of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. “The Clue Crew experience is a wonderful blend of education and entertainment,” said Farrell. “I enjoy encouraging others to imagine the possibilities, and to act on those ideas. Presenting ‘Classroom Jeopardy!’ to the many young people throughout our travels really inspires me, and the response from teachers and students alike has been extremely positive. I am glad the Clue Crew is able to facilitate learning in the classrooms by making it fun.”
What: As a Jeopardy! ambassador, Farrell will share her experience with the former foster youth and mingle with them and their mentors during the Youth Moving On spring mentor mixer. Hillsides, the Pasadena-based residential and community treatment center for children at risk and their families, established Youth Moving On, a comprehensive transitional living program that offers emancipated youth quality affordable housing, mental health services, mentoring and independent living skills in a goal-oriented and supportive community.
