Our board of directors, staff and volunteers are committed to significantly impacting the community's awareness of children's issues. Hillsides assembled a communications and advocacy committee to develop and implement advocacy strategies that create safer places for children.
As a model advocate for foster care children suffering from mental illness, severe neglect, child abuse, and physical, emotional and sexual abuse, John Hitchcock, executive director of Hillsides, serves as the liaison to Los Angeles County and State social services organizations and actively participates in several child welfare associations. Under John's administration, Hillsides has significantly committed to advocating on behalf of children. Hillsides has taken the lead among other direct service organizations in developing and implementing its advocacy program.
