Through outreach programs in the community, we have been able to partner with local schools, neighborhood councils, children's services agencies, mental health care agencies and local police department to help children at risk and families in crisis. By working at a "grassroots" level and pooling resources with other committed organizations, Hillsides is able to stop or prevent child abuse from happening.

Hillsides recognizes the great demand for services in stopping or preventing child abuse and providing parents and children with tools to strengthen their families. Below are links to resources you might find helpful.



AbilityFirst
AbilityFirst provides programs and services for children and adults with disabilities. Thier mission is to help people with disabilities realize thier full potential throughout their lives.

AIDS Service Center
AIDS Service Center’s multi-disciplinary team develops and delivers services, advocacy and education tailored to improve the quality of life of individuals, families and communities impacted by and at risk for HIV/AIDS and related medical conditions.

All Saints Church, Pasadena
All Saints Church is a large, inclusive, urban, liberal-spirited church deeply committed to issues of social peace and justice and to the spirit of creativity in all aspects of life. They have a long history assisting the community with child advocacy, educational programs, violence provention, mentorships, and resources for business clothing for interviews.

The Alliance for Children's Rights
The Alliance for Children's Rights is protecting the rights and futures of abused and impoverished children throughout Los Angeles County, in hopes of creating a world in which all children are able to have a safe and permanent family, access to quality health care, a quality education, and all of the support and services they so rightfully deserve.

Assistance League of Southern California
Assistance League of Southern California provides a broad range of essential human services and economic development activities to low and moderate income residents within Hollywood, the San Fernando Valley and the greater Los Angeles area through a partnership of dedicated volunteers and staff.

Bresee Foundation
The Bresee Foundation serves the neighborhoods of Koreatown, Pico Union, Westlake and South Central Los Angeles, to build a stronger, healthier, safer community for area residents by providing them with access to important resources and services and empowering them with the knowledge and skills to improve their lives.

The California Alliance of Child and Family Services
This is a statewide association of more than 200 private nonprofit agencies, formed on January 1, 2000, through the merger of the California Association of Services for Children (CSC) and the California Association of Children's Homes (CCH).

California Association of Private Specialized Education and Services (CAPSES)
CAPSES is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the leadership role of the private sector in offering alternative quality services to individuals with special education needs.

California Child Development Training Consortium
The CDTC is a statewide program funded by the California Department of Education, Child Development Division (CDE/CDD) with Federal Child Care and Development Quality Improvement Funds. The program is administered by the Yosemite Community College District. The program was created in 1982 to address the critical shortage of qualified child care workers in the state of California.

Child Welfare League
CWLA is an association of more than 1,100 public and private nonprofit agencies that assist over 3.5 million abused and neglected children and their families each year with a wide range of services.

Children’s Law Center of Los Angeles
Children's Law Center was created by the Superior Court over a decade ago to serve as appointed counsel for children who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned.

Foothill Family Services
Foothill Family Services is a family service agency in the San Gabriel Valley whose services include professional counseling, mental health treatment for children, teens and their gamilies, case management and educational services.

The Los Angeles Commission for Children and Families

Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services
The Department of Children and Family Services provides a comprehensive child protection system of prevention, preservation, and permanency to ensure that children grow up safe, physically and emotionally healthy, educated and in permanent homes.

Los Angeles Department of Mental Health
The Department of Mental Health serves the people of Los Angeles County through a network of clinics, field services, hospitals, and other facilities operated by the County and contract agencies. 

The National Association of Child Advocates (NACA)
They are the only national organization devoted to building the capacity of state and local child advocacy organizations.

The National Mental Health and Education Center for Children and Families
This is a public service of the National Association of School Psychologists, is an information and action network to foster best practices in education and mental health for children and families — building upon strengths, understanding diversity, and supporting families.

Optimist Youth Homes
Optimist Youth Homes and Family Services mission is to provide culturally sensitive comprehensive treatment, specialized education, and support services to abused, neglected, or at-risk children and youth and their families to establish stability within families and communities.

Pasadena Alumni Support Center
At the Pasadena Alumni Support Center (PASC), former foster care youth can seek employment, gain access to health and mental health benefits, and research scholarships and information about higher education.

Pasadena Public Health Department

Peace Over Violence

Social Model Recovery Systems, Inc is a multi-faceted human services organization providing mental health and alcohol and other drug treatment services at various locations throughout Southern California.

Young & Healthy is a health care program that provides free medical, dental, psychological and case-management services to low-income, uninsured children in the Pasadena Schools, day care centers and homeless shelters in the greater Pasadena community.
